A new concept: Relational Fitness

Today, the co-founders of Soul Cycle launched their latest venture: Peoplehood. Built around the concept of ‘relational fitness’, their mission is to equip people with space, support and skills to build deeper, more meaningful relationships with others and themselves to live happier, healthier lives.

I've always deeply valued relationships and have long recognized how greatly they’ve influenced the path of my life and my day-to-day happiness. Yet, I also realize I spent many years believing that prioritizing human connection was about deeply investing in the relationships I have. In the past few years, however, I’ve
come to realize how powerful it is to be as intentional about carving out NEW relationships as you are about nurturing EXISTING ones.

Putting myself into situations (often outside my comfort zone as an extraverted introvert) where I have been exposed to a lot of new people in a container that has facilitated deep connection has resulted in collaborations, friendships and opportunities for deep personal growth that I never could have even imagined or actively pursued – and that have also been massive sources of joy (particularly through the hardest stretches of the pandemic). And remarkably - in focusing outward, I have ended up learning exponentially more about myself.

I am curious to follow Peoplehood and see how this particular model lands, while also continuing to learn and benefit from others who are doing amazing work in this space.
